Reconstruction of main building at Fort Anne

The remainder of the fortress consists of earthen works. This is the most picturesque building on the grounds. I fell into the trap of painting it, but the image went unsold presumably because it was over-exposed in this market-place.

A continental breakfast was served Saturday and Sunday mornings at ARTsPLACE, which was sponsoring the show, and received commissions from sales. This gallery, which has one show a year for local artists, is partly subsidized by government but the sale of Nova Scotian art from this event once each summer, takes up the shortfall in operating expenses. At least, this has been the case in the past. We all passed on the breakfast as we were booked into a B&B.
