Blue Rocks, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, 2008

Just completed this morning 18x24 inches, acrylic on canvas.

Thus ends my five day drive to speed the plough, aiming at a painting per day for five days. The two larger ones were sketched and blocked in on a previous day but the smaller ones existed only as summary sketches.

I have been unhappy with inclination to overfinish paintings and I hope you will find these later images a little more painterly. As Pissaro used to make them cartoony not pretty.

And this one I like cause it reminds me of the days I spent hanging out in your studio, watching. You are good at rocks and water everywhere too!
