
I expect there will always be some market for hand-crafted work and that it will rise in value as good examples become less common. From my perspective, based on four decades of work, paintings of lasting value are already on the wane. I expect homes of the future will be decorated by something like crystal matrix screens displaying an ever-changing parade of new photographic images and digital art.
Doubt it? Have a look at Microsoft Lab's Photsynth home page and then look at PicLens and SearchMe. Already web-weaving mavens are saying: "Content around images and the overall page text must be relevant to the image..." As has been said, "A picture is worth a thousand words which is why blog messages should not really exceed three paragraphs.
