Starting: The Duck Pond In Winter

Am never entirerly happy with winter and studio painting and there has been only one really exceptional day of sunlight and warmth. Overcast today and very windy.

Here is a situation where acrylics make it easy. Negative Space. A bit of blue and umbre mixed together; very fast establishment of the water area. In a watercolour this painting would have to be quite large and would require a lot of frisket work, but with acrylics I'll be able to paint light over dark and establish reflections in the water in a much more direct fluid manner. The result should be much less photographic and static than that usually produced using watercolours. And this medium is forgiving.
