The Market Square Complex

As far as I know, these panels illustrating the history of the City of Saint John, are still in a hallway up there. Intitially I wanted to do art deco styles decorations on this theme at the top of the walls in the so-called "Great Hall." That did not happen, and this illustrative work at least saved the research I had done.

I did create two huge murals for the Convention Centres in the Great Hall, but never did have photographs. All of this work was created against an impossible time frame but I did my best considering my skills of that moment.

Anyone wishing to see my public collections of Art work and photographs will find them at http://picasaweb.google.com/rodneycmackay

The paintings in the hallway at Market Square were of the Marco Polo and the Spencer. You did the second painting to honour Princess Diana (whose maiden name was Spencer) visited New Brunswick with Prince Charles just after that painting was done. I remember that, as the official artist on the project, you and mum got to meet Princes Diana and Prince Charles and sit at he head table. It is somewhat ironic that neither Princess Diana or mum realized that they had a common ancestor, Deacon Stephen Hart, founder of Hartsford, Ct.
Do you now if the paintings are still hanging at Market Square?
