Blue Rocks, Late Afternoon

Late yesterday afternoon. The sun is definitely giving us greater coverage. This was a grab-shot at Blue Rocks which is further out on the peninsula which contains Lunenburg. It is still largely populated by fishermen and -women. This little embayment will only take a little adjustment of sky colour to create a painting. There simply is no plein air painting here as yet. I have always felt that those who insist on that method to the exclusion of phot-notes miss an entire season which does have its own beauty.

Another matter: Note those side plexiglass windscreens. You could and mix traditional colours in a vain attempt to duplicate that colour; and I will strive for it as it is part of our time. Fortunately plexiglass and acrylic paint are kissing cousins so you can buy this particular colour straight out of the tube.
